Next-generation nuclear plant to replace a coal fired power plant in Wyoming
A coal-powered power plant in Wyoming is to be shut down for good and in its place, a next-generation nuclear plant will be established, it’s being done in light of the government’s target to bring down the carbon emissions to negligible in the coming years.
The project will most probably be controlled by Microsoft Co-Founder and former CEO- Bill Gates. The officials along with probable project partners discussed it in a virtual meeting called by Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon.
Jennifer Granholm, Energy Secretary said “It’s got a simpler design that will hopefully result in faster construction at a lower cost. It’s going to create a smaller footprint. It’s going to be equipped with next-generation safety measures.”
