Officer shot multiple times at traffic stop in Texas

A Texas police officer was shot multiple times during a traffic stop overnight, authorities have said. The officer was taken to a Fort Worth Hospital, although his condition is unknown.

At about 4:15 a.m. on Wednesday, the Burleson police officer approached a car on the passenger side and was shot at by one of the three people inside, Burleson police said in a statement. The suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled.

Officers are canvassing the area for the suspects.
