Pentagon leaders defends military’s approach to racism and extremism
Top Pentagon leaders irritably defended the military’s approach to racism and extremism. The military continues to solve social issues within its own rank but the accusation by the republican lawmakers got converted into a heated debate.
General Milley rather mentioned that the military shall be unconventional and must accept new changes. He also mentioned that those getting education at Westpoint must also know who ideas can make a difference.
John F. Kirby, a spokesman for Mr. Austin, mentioned “If you meet the standards, and you’re qualified to be in the military, and you’re willing to raise your hand and serve this country, we want you to be able to do it and we want you to be able to do it free of hate and fear and discrimination,” he said. “We owe you that.”
The services have been in debate right since President Harry S. Truman integrated the military.
