Point72 to hire Head of Cryptocurrencies

Point72 Asset Management is looking to hire a head of cryptocurrencies for the firm. The profile for the position has not yet been made clear.

The firm is reportedly exploring the possibility of investing in cryptocurrencies through the hedge fund of its private investment unit.

According to Bloomberg, in a letter to investors, Point72 has said “We are exploring opportunities around blockchain technology and its transformative and disruptive capabilities. We would be remiss to ignore a now $2 trillion cryptocurrency market.”
