Radisson Hotel suspect a fired employee of the same hotel, confirms police
Brown County Sheriff Todd Delaine said on Monday that the shooter who shot and killed two restaurant workers at a hotel and casino complex in Wisconsin was an out of temper former employee of the same hotel, who was banned from the eatery.
Sheriff Delaine stated during the press conference that Bruce K. Pofahl, aged 62, was a past employee at the Duck Creek Kitchen and bar. He had stormed into the restaurant at the Radisson Hotel on Saturday with a handgun and opened fire.
The sheriff further told reporters, “The suspect fatally shot two employees with a 9mm handgun.” He added, “This occurred with approximately 50 patrons in the restaurant.”
“Later on, Pofahl walked outside and shot a third restaurant worker”, stated the Sheriff.
The third restaurant worker was later identified as Dan Mulligan. Mulligan underwent emergency surgery after that and is still recovering from his injuries.
The two workers who were shot and killed by Pofahl were identified as Ian Simpson, age 32, and Jacob Bartel, age 35.
Delaine reported that the whole incident spanned over just “10 minutes or less.”
He further added that Pofahl ‘was terminated earlier this year.’
Delaine also confirmed that the officers who claimed to have shot Pofahl at a parking garage are not being identified but they have been put on administrative leave as per the established procedure.
