Sun Country Airlines Announces New Nonstop Services

Sun Country Airlines announced its new nonstop service from Rochester to Phoenix, Arizona, and Ft. Myers, Florida beginning next year in February. Rochester Mayor Kim Norton was present at the announcement, at Rochester Airport.
Sun Country shared that it will begin its new and nonstop service from Rochester International Airport to Fort Myers, Florida beginning February 3, 2022, and Phoenix, Arizona beginning February 4, 2022.  This announcement suggests a larger expansion of the airline, as it shared its plan of18 new nonstop routes and added nine new airports to its growing network.

Sun Country Airlines Chief Revenue Officer Grant Whitney in the press release said, “We know folks are excited to resume traveling, and we’re happy to be able to offer them the opportunity to travel to these destinations with us, Rochester-area residents are familiar with our brand of convenient, affordable travel, and these new routes will make it even easier for them to get away on the warm, sunny vacations they’ve been dreaming about.”   

Rochester (RST) to Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX), Sun Country Airlines plans to offer only nonstop flights. With this expansion strategy, Sun Country Airlines will operate across 69 airports and a total of 93 routes in Central America, the Caribbean, the United States, and Mexico.

 

RST’s Executive Director John Reed in the press release shared “We are grateful for Sun Country’s commitment to bring new nonstop routes to Rochester International Airport. Travelers from southeastern Minnesota, northern Iowa, and western Wisconsin can all enjoy easy access to two amazing new vacation destinations from RST. We know our region will be thrilled to use these new options.”
Ryan Parsons, President of the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce, Tiana O’Connor, Marketing and Communications Manager at the Rochester International Airport, John Reed, Executive Director of the Rochester International Airport, Steven McNeill, Chief Planning Officer at Mayo Clinic,  and Patrick Seeb, Executive Director of Destination Medical Center were present at the Rochester Airport during the event.
