SWAT commander and 4 injured after standoff with a gunman

SWAT commander dead and 4 others injured after a standoff with a gunman in a West Texas city on Thursday. The suspect was captured just before midnight in Levelland, about 30 miles west of Lubbock. The hour-long standoff started at 1 pm after the suspect hid in a house and fired.
Three of the wounded officers were taken to a Lubbock hospital. Levelland police Sgt. Shawn Wilson was in critically injured but stable condition after surgery. Sgt. Josh Bartlett of the Lubbock County Sheriff’s Office was taken to Covenant Health Levelland hospital and died of his wounds, according to a sheriff’s office statement.
