Top Amusement parks in Arizona
The ‘Grand Canyon State’ Arizona has a plethora of show stoppers. The Cathedral Rock, the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, the endless skies, and the long iconic highways are the places that attract tourists to Arizona. Its beauty is ancient.
There aren’t many amusement parks in Arizona. In fact, Phoenix and its neighborhood remain one of the few large metropolitan areas in the US without a major park. Given the intense heat, however, it should probably come as no surprise that there are a number of Arizona water parks to provide relief along with fun.
The intense heat may be the reason why there are not any major outdoor amusement parks or theme parks in the state.

Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix
Wet ‘n’ Wild Phoenix, renamed to Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Phoenix, is a water park located in North Phoenix at the Adobe Dam Regional Park. It is around 35 acres (14 hectares) which makes it Arizona’s largest theme park. Attractions include Tornado, Raging River, Maximum Velocity, the first and only ride of its kind globally, Mammoth Falls, Soak ’em Playground, and more. The park also houses the Wet ‘n’ Wild Junior park, which also has a massive kid’s pool and interactive play structure within.
Golfland Sunsplash
Golfland-Sunsplash is located in the city of Mesa. The series of family amusement centers and water parks are actually separated into two different parks. It is Arizona’s premier family fun destination. Sunsplash is the water park operating in the summer. It features 29 fun-filled water-based attractions that will have kids having fun to their heart’s content, including the humongous Thunder Bay, a 450,000-gallon (1.7 million liters) wave pool. Golfland operates throughout the year and features bumper boats, a go-kart track, a pizza restaurant, an arcade, and three miniature golf courses!
Castles N’ Coasters
This is the state’s biggest park located in Phoenix. The 10-acre (4-hectare) park features an indoor video game arcade, numerous rides, and even four outdoor 18-hole miniature golf courses. Star attraction includes two steel coasters, one of which includes inversions, the Castles Cafe, the XD Dark Ride, mini-golf, go-karts, a 3D motion theatre, a zip line, and spinning rides are some of the other famous attractions here. It is open throughout the year.
Enchanted Island Amusement Park
If you have younger kids, then Enchanted Island Amusement Park in Phoenix is the best place. Enchanted Island will make your kids’ day charming and magical to the hilt. The most thrilling ride is the Rock-N-Roll, a teacup-style attraction. Other rides include a carousel, a kiddie coaster, bumper boats, and a small train at Encanto Park. Funtasticks Family Fun Park
The family entertainment center has a few rides for kids including a mini roller coaster. The park has many other attractions including Cactus Springs, Go-Karting options, Bumper Boats, Laser Tag, Arcade games, Mini Golf, and even a Kiddle Land with rookie go-karts.
Oasis Water Park
The expansive Oasis Water Park is located inside the Arizona Grand Resort and Spa. It was voted as one of the Top 10 Water Parks by the Travel Channel in the country. Fun and wild in equal measure, Oasis Water Park has something to interest kids of all age groups, making it perfect for family travels. This seven-acre premium water park features an eight-story Slide Canyon River with three exhilarating water slides, Wild Cat Springs ride for smaller children, the Valley’s sole side-by-side active river, a gigantic wave pool, huge water slides, and a 25-person hot tub!
Big Surf
Big Surf claims to be home to the oldest and the first wave pool in the United States. It is located in Tempe. It has even received an ASME landmark status. Big Surf features a host of water attractions such as beach wave pools, water park slides, and kid-friendly water-based attractions. Big Surf has also added several attractions since it opened.
