Twitter restores account access of Belarusian People’s Embassies

On Friday, Twitter mentioned that it has restored access to the accounts of a group of exile opposition groups that call themselves the “Belarusian People’s Embassies”, which was suspended after the accusation of identity theft, by Belarusian authorities.
The people’s embassy movement started after last year’s presidential election, in which Alexander Lukashenko won leading to a widespread belief that there had been certain frauds. The resulting crackdown has seen hundreds were prisoned, opposition activists were tortured, and caused a lively exile movement in countries like Latvia, Lithuania, and Germany where many Belarusians live.
