UK Royals to avoid admiral outfits at Prince Philip’s funeral to save Harry from embarrassment

In an attempt to save the Princes, Andrew and Harry, from any embarrassment Britain’s senior royals will be abandoning their admiral outfits and instead wear their morning suits for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth’s husband Prince Philip.

A ceremonial royal funeral will be held entirely at Windsor Castle on Saturday for Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, who died last week at the age of 99.

Much of the service was planned by the Prince himself but there will some changes in order to comply with the COVID-19 restriction like the Queen and 29 other mourners will be wearing masks.

Traditionally at such formal occasion, you always find them in their military uniforms, reflecting their honorary titles.

A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said that “Members of the royal family will be wearing morning dress with medals or day dress,” he added, “that’s to say members will not be in military uniform.”

However, the funeral is taking place after the crisis of Queen’s grandson, Harry quits his royal duties and criticizes the ill-treatment of wife during the blowing interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The duke if Hasting, wanted to wear his military uniform, the one he wore at his wedding, but he has lost all his military patronage since he moved to U.S. in January with his wife, Meghan Markle.

Prince Andrew, 61, wanted to wear his admiral uniform but he had deferred his title after stepping away from official engagements due to ill-judged association with the late disgraced U.S. financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The funeral ceremony will begin at 1300 GMT on Saturday. The duke coffin will be placed on a specially commissioned Land Rover till castle of St. George’s Chapel.

Walking behind will be the senior royals including Prince Charles and Prince William and Harry. There will be one-minute silence at 1400 GMT before the 50-minute service starts.

At the end the coffin will be lowered in the royal vault.

Among the hundreds of bouquets was a small Land Rover with message “The Duke. RIP.”

The Queen and the royals has appreciated the condolences message from all around the world, says spokesperson.
