Unreal Engine 5 is up for demo from today
Unreal Engine 5 is available to demo from today. One of its most highlighted features is the magnificent-sounding Temporal Super Resolution. Gaming giant Epic claims this feature will help in producing the high-end graphics one sees in tech demos.
In short, Temporal Super Resolution will help PCs keep pace with all the geometric information to make it possible to keep into a scene with UE5’s Nanite technology and its global illumination technology, Lumen, while keeping up with decent framerates.
It is promoted as an anti-aliasing technique, however, similar to Nvidia DLSS, there’s not much to understand that and what one may believe as a lifting feature—they are generally two sides of the same coin.
Epic has said, “UE5’s new anti aliasing solution, temporal super resolution, keeps up with all this new geometric detail to create sharper, more stable images than before with quality approaching true native 4K at the cost of 1080p.”
