US Judge slams pro-Trump lawyers over false voter fraud claims

Sidney Powell, Donald Trump’s former campaign lawyer, and other attorneys were rebuked by a U.S judge on Monday over a lawsuit they filed against Democratic President Joe Biden’s victory in the US presidential election held last November. 

US district judge Linda Parker slammed the pro-Trump lawyers for their allegations against the Democratic President. According to Reuters, she further suggested that the attorneys should have investigated Trump’s voter fraud claims more carefully before suing. 

The hearing was held in Detroit to determine whether pro-Trump lawyers should be disciplined for their frivolous lawsuit filed last November in Michigan. In the lawsuit, baseless claims of widespread voter fraud were made about the U.S presidential election. 

Last December Parker dismissed the Michigan Lawsuit in written decision saying that the claims made were “nothing but speculation and conjecture”.

This is not the first time that pro-Trump lawyers are being criticized. In recent weeks, former New York Mayor and Trump confidant’s Rudy Giuliani’s law license was suspended after it was found that he lied in supporting Trump’s claims.
