Washington & Jefferson College makes it mandatory for students to get vaccinated

Students of Washington & Jefferson College would be required to get vaccinated against COVID-19. However, the college will allow for exemptions in particular cases.

The college put up the COVID-19 vaccination requirement to their list of immunization requirements in the student handbook last week.

The college stated that students could be exempted from the ruling for “medical, religious and philosophical reasons,” but they will have to submit an exemption form for that.

Students who are absolved will not be left out from any campus or academic activities, but the college claimed that “specific provisions” would be enacted for those students who are not vaccinated against COVID-19.

The provision will start from July 15 and will include testing, tracking symptoms and potentially wearing a mask in some situations.

The college stated that it is making these rulings based on the guidance of the CDC, Pennsylvania Department of Health and W&J Clinical Advisory Panel.
