Joe Biden hints for affordable public transit in recent tweet

President Joe Biden tweeted on Wednesday, “Far too many Americans lack access to affordable public transit — and those who do have access are often met with delays and disruptions. We have the power to change that, modernize public transit, and expand access for people across the country.”

In his tweet, the president raises the problems of the transport system in the USA and indicates to short out the trouble. He points out that several Americans do not have access to public transit and those having access are often met with delays.

According to his tweet, 40% of Americans have no access to affordable public transport. For this purpose, the Biden administration announced ‘sustainable infrastructure and clean energy plan which calls for an investment of $1.3 trillion over 10 years in transportation infrastructure, starting with $50 billion in the first year for highway repairs.

The plan also promises to bring zero-emission public transportation options to every U.S. city with 100,000 or more residents. These include light rail, electric-powered transit buses, bike and pedestrian infrastructure.
