Twitter to include full screen ads on its story-like feature Fleets

American microblogging and social networking service-Twitter had introduced ‘Fleet’ format last year, a feature similar to Instagram or Snapchat stories, and now the company plans to capitalize on the successful addition by incorporating full-screen ads to it. It confirmed the news on Monday with its senior product manager Justin Hoang and global product marketing manager Austin Evers posting, “Fleet ads are full-screen billboards for advertisers.”

The feature supports advertisements using images and video in 9:16, where videos can be maximum of 30 seconds long. Brands can choose to add a “swipe up” option through which they would be able to access standard Twitter ad metrics like impressions, profile visits, clicks etc.

Hoang and Evers also revealed that the platform is planning to focus the impact of the new feature on the audience and how they respond to it, not just for Fleet ads but other additions as well, “We also believe that ads should be non-intrusive and bring value to people, so we’re focused on learning more about how people feel about and engage with this new placement,” stated their post.
